Where We’ve Been, Where We’re Going: Answering Vendor Questions
To celebrate 30 years of supporting pros, we sat down with The Knot Worldwide CEO Raina Moskowitz and industry icon Jove Meyer to explore the shift from “cookie-cutter” weddings to an era of deep personalization. We also answered audience questions about everything from booking trends and client expectations to marketing strategies and business growth.
In case you missed it, we’re sharing those answers, expanded insights and practical takeaways. Whether you’re curious about attracting more ideal clients, improving your inquiry process or understanding where the industry is headed next—we’ve got you covered.
Let’s jump in.
How is WeddingPro evolving to better support vendor success?
The wedding industry is evolving quickly, and so are the ways couples discover and connect with vendors. Our focus is on helping pros spend less time on admin and more time on their craft by delivering meaningful, high-intent opportunities and continuing to improve the tools, technology, and experiences that support business growth. But WeddingPro is about more than leads, we aim to be a true partner to vendors through:
Increased visibility
Our focus is making sure you get discovered wherever couples are planning. We have achieved top visibility across hundreds of wedding topics in AI-powered search, and we’re continuing to invest to keep your business discoverable as different search platforms grow. For example, we recently partnered with ChatGPT to help surface our pros to the increased volume of couples actively using that tool to plan their weddings. We have a dedicated team helping you get discovered where couples search.
Quality matches
Last year, Storefront content tools were enhanced to give vendors more ways to highlight what makes their business unique, helping them stand out with more compelling profiles. There’s also ongoing investment in improving quality matches across the marketplace so vendors are connecting with couples who are a stronger fit from the start.
We’ve also launched a new way for couples to let you know when they’ve chosen another direction, so you can focus your time and energy on active, high-intent leads. On the couple’s side, deeper intent signals and preference insights are being used to surface more relevant recommendations, ensuring the right couples are discovering the right pros at the right time.
Time saving tools
Managing leads is one of the most critical parts of your business, but we know it can also be one of the most time-consuming. We’re investing in tools to simplify your workflow, save you time and reduce friction. To support that, the WeddingPro app has been updated to help pros manage their unified inbox anytime, anywhere.
With our rebuilt WeddingPro iOS app, pros are engaging with couples 5x more and responding 4x faster—creating stronger, more immediate connections with leads.
New tools for WeddingPro members like Auto replies and Auto follow-ups make it even easier to stay responsive: with “set it and forget it” messaging, you can instantly send customizable responses like pricing, availability, or timelines, and keep leads warm even when you’re busy or away from your desk. We also have WeddingPro Inbox, that can surface key couple details like couple names and wedding date, which Smart fields can leverage to tailor your responses and keep communications feeling authentic and meaningful, even when you’re using templates.
Education and community
We’re continuing to expand opportunities to learn and engage, including more live Q&A events just like this one with access to subject-matter experts, industry leaders, and peers. It’s our goal to make the WeddingPro community experience even more intentional, and accessible, through in person and digital experiences, bringing together practical education, meaningful connection and data-backed insight to help you grow with confidence and clarity.
We’re delivering consistent, curated monthly education focused on the marketing skills that drive bookings today, and we’re committed to bringing pros together for meaningful networking to build relationships and help each other grow.
Takeaway for wedding vendors: At our core, we’re focused on helping vendors showcase what makes them unique and build meaningful connections with couples. We are always evolving to ensure we’re your supportive partner in navigating industry shifts and growing your business.
What AI and automation features are available to use?
There are a few ways WeddingPro is helping vendors tackle day to day friction and the overwhelm of administrative tasks that take time away from focusing on your craft. Intelligent automation tools like Auto follow-ups allow you to set timing, customize messages in your own voice, and re-engage leads 24/7, helping you stay responsive and increase your chances of booking without adding more manual work to your plate.
And this is just the beginning! There are even more AI-powered features and enhanced messaging tools coming soon designed to help you reduce admin work, stay organized, and close more business with less effort.
Takeaway for wedding vendors: WeddingPro’s AI tools and features are focused on helping vendors reduce friction, improve responsiveness, and better qualify leads—not replace human connection.
How can smaller or niche vendors stand out in an increasingly competitive marketplace?
We heard questions around how smaller or highly specialized vendors can stand out alongside larger businesses, and how to think about competitive pricing in today’s market. We know couples are increasingly drawn to vendors with a strong point of view and a clear sense of identity. Being specific about your style, expertise and the experience you provide is often more impactful than trying to appeal to everyone.
Why Having a Niche Is a Power-Move for Your Wedding Business breaks down why it’s one of the best ways to attract your dream clients, rise above the competition and charge what you’re truly worth.
Takeaway for wedding vendors: The vendors who communicate their value clearly are often able to compete less on price and more on fit.
How should we think about the differences between TK & WW when it comes to the audience/couple profiles?
While many couples use both The Knot and WeddingWire to find vendors, our data shows a less than 1% overlap in leads sent to the same vendor across both sites. For pros, this represents two distinct pools of potential clients. By maintaining a presence on both platforms, it helps you stay visible to the widest possible range of couples, regardless of how or where they choose to plan.
Our sites work together to cover the entire planning lifecycle. The Knot has unique features designed to meet couples earlier in their planning journey through discovery and vision building, often before a shortlist is even created. WeddingWire has add-on features built around geographic targeting and localized search, tools that help vendors show up for couples who are planning in a specific area. Leveraging both brands helps vendors stay visible through the entire planning process, helping to capture both early-phase explorers and action-oriented planners.
What are the best ways to optimize and manage your WeddingPro experience?
We saw a number of questions around profile setup, notifications, automation tools, and account management. These operational details play a meaningful role in visibility, responsiveness, and conversion—and optimizing them can have a real impact on your success.
A strong starting point is your Storefront. Think of it as a high-converting mini-website designed to showcase your expertise and turn interested couples into booked clients. Beyond a portfolio, it’s important to use it strategically to highlight pricing, services, promotions, and key details that help couples quickly understand if you’re the right fit. Clear and transparent pricing, in particular, builds trust and helps filter for higher-intent leads, saving time for both you and couples.
Visuals and storytelling matter just as much. Updating photos and videos regularly helps ensure your profile reflects your current style and the trends your ideal couples are looking for. Professional imagery can elevate your presentation, but authentic, well-curated content that reflects your real work is just as powerful.
Reviews and social proof are another key driver of conversion. Authentic, detailed reviews give couples confidence in what it’s like to work with you, especially when they highlight strengths like responsiveness, professionalism, and overall experience. Encouraging couples to leave thoughtful feedback helps strengthen your reputation over time. Many marketplaces also allow these reviews and achievements to be showcased more prominently, including awards and credibility badges that signal trust and reliability before couples even reach out.
On the performance side, tools like WeddingPro Insights give you visibility into how your Storefront is performing to help you track views, inquiries, clicks to social media, and bookings so you can better understand what’s working and refine as needed.
Finally, efficiency tools like notifications, automation features, and lead management workflows help you stay responsive and organized. These tools support faster response times, better follow-up, and improved conversion by ensuring no lead slips through the cracks.
Takeaway for wedding vendors: These optimizations help you create a stronger Storefront, build trust faster with couples, and manage your workflow more efficiently so you can focus less on admin and more on growing your business.
