The Pro Experience Portland 2019- Recap & Photos!
ByWe headed to Oregon for The Knot + WeddingWire The Pro Experience Portland. The day was all about learning, building relationships and inspiring the wedding industry community. The warehouse and intimate garden at Castaway Portland + Blockhouse was the perfect space for this event.
We had so much fun hanging with talented wedding professionals that were hungry to learn. Together we learned how to build a strategic brand, standout on social media, close the sale and so much more!
Misty of Luxe Event Productions planned the Pro Experience Portland with contemporary and vibrant fun vibes where she used a dynamic summer branding color palette featuring the color of the year, Living Coral, accented with shades of nude and gray. Kaleigh of Méldeen, The Knot Worldwide’s event branding partner, designed this lively color palette and inspiration. Together their design came to life through balloon arches (Rodeo Queen), pampas grass (Honor Floral and Events) and boho chic lounge furniture (Archive Rentals Portland). A few more of our favorites from the day included:
- The beautiful stage setup. Think colorful pampas grass (Honor Floral and Events), fun signage (Letters and Dust) and vintage boho furniture (Archive Rentals Portland)
- Everything about lunch! We’re talking geometric vases (Honor Floral and Events), sequin linen (Nuage Designs, Inc), balloon arch (Rodeo Queen), rentals (Bridgewood Event Rentals) and the most delicious menu (ChefStable Catering)
- The “Spike The Punch” tote bags (Luxe Event Productions)
- The headshot bar where pros walked away with a fresh new headshot to update on their Storefront, website and social accounts (Kelby Maria Photography)
- The Rosé wall, local beers and mediterranean inspired eats during cocktail hour (ChefStable Catering)

So many talented wedding pros joined us for the day. Local pros including Krysta York (Charlotte’s Weddings), Misty Damico (Luxe Event Productions), Matthew Kurowski (Stumptown DJs) and Matthew Gencarella (byDesign Films) shared their expertise and experience in the wedding industry.
Attendees also heard from industry experts on the following: Bernadette Baillie on Wedding Industry Insights, Bethel Nathan of Elevate by Bethel (and Ceremonies by Bethel) on Keys to Effective & Inclusive Client Communication, Desireé Dent of Dejanae Events LLC on How to Master Reviews, Whitney Little of The Knot on Social Media Insider Tips, Kaleigh Wiese of Méldeen on Building a Strategic Brand and Sam Jacobson of Ideaction Consulting on How to Stop Scaring Clients During the Sale. We left feeling inspired and ready to put what we learned in action. A special thank you for everyone who shared with us and Bernadette Baillie for being an amazing emcee.
We ended the day by getting to know local Portland wedding pros. We enjoyed a Rosé wall, local beers and mediterranean inspired eats during cocktail hour (ChefStable Catering). We had so much fun and felt how excited everyone was to be at an education event with their fellow pros. We can’t wait to come back to Portland soon!
